Gleneagles and Hilton take top prizes at marketing awards
The Gleneagles Hotel, Scotland and Hilton UK & Ireland were the big winners at the Hotel Marketing Association’s (HMA) 10th Annual Hotel Marketing Awards, announced on 15 December last year.
The Gleneagles Hotel took two awards, best marketing activity on a small budget – for its Friends of Gleneagles campaign – and best hotel brochure. The hotel was also highly commended for its winter rates promotion in the best leisure marketing activity category.
The top award in that category went to Hilton UK & Ireland for its Hilton family breaks campaign, featuring Planet Hilton.
Best use of technology in marketing went to The Savoy Group for the introduction of its eCRM (electronic Customer Relationship Management) internet system.
Moat House Hotels won best public relations activity for its Tour de Club Moativation and Corus Hotels took best fully integrated marketing campaign for its Fantastic Summer Campaign 2003.
Ramada Jarvis was highly commended in the best marketing activity on a small budget category for its health club membership drive.
Alongside the awards, which took place at the Savoy Hotel and were sponsored by American Express, the BDRC (British Development Research Consultants) annual hotel guest survey awards were also announced.
Premier Lodge won most improved hotel brand of the year and Hilton took both meetings market brand of the year and leading choice hotel brand.
