Global Spa Summit opportunity for students
A total of 10 spa management students are to be given the opportunity to join the second annual Global Spa Summit from 18-20 May in New York City, US.
There will be four students chosen from New York’s Cornell University’s School of Hospitality Administration in the US as well as two from the California-based UC Irvine Extension’s Spa and Hospitality Management Program. Four students will be chosen from the Ecole Hôtelière de Lausanne in Switzerland.
The 10 students will be ‘scribes’ for the Global Spa Summit sessions, taking notes that will later be put into a presentation. They will also be given networking opportunities with the 200 delegates.
It has also been announced that Dr Richard H Carmona, 17th Surgeon General of the US (2002-2006) and vice chair of Canyon Ranch, will deliver a keynote address at the summit.
Dr Carmona will discuss the vital role of spas in prevention and global health during his address, as part of the three-day gathering at New York’s Waldorf Astoria Hotel.
More than 150 delegates from 24 countries attended last year’s Global Spa Summit.
