Global travel and tourism trends to be revealed
On 6 March, the World Travel & Tourism Council (WTTC) and its research partner Accenture will present its 2008 Tourism Satellite Accounting (TSA) research on tourism and travel’s economic performance for 176 countries.
The research will also include global industry trends for 2008 and the next 10 years and will be launched at ITB in Berlin, Germany.
Travel and tourism is recognised as one of the world’s highest priority industries and employers.
The WTTC and Oxford Economics have based their exclusive research on the United Nations (UN) standard for Satellite Accounting, and attempts to quantify the economic impact of both travel and tourism.
The WTTC is a forum for business leaders within travel and tourism. The chair and chief executives of the council comprise some of the world’s leading tourism companies.
WTTC works to raise awareness of the travel and tourism industries. According to the WTTC, travel and tourism employs around 230 million.
