Gloucestershire CCC reports £216,000 deficit
Gloucestershire County Cricket Club (GCCC) has reported a post-tax deficit of £216,000 for the year ending 30 September 2010.
The club said that last summer's football World Cup impacted on Twenty20 gate income, while ticket sales for the England v Bangladesh match had been "disappointing". Hospitality and advertising income were also down on the club's budget, although GCCC revealed it experienced a "better-than-expected" Cheltenham Festival.
GCCC honorary treasurer Tony Elgood said: "This is the second year running that the club has had a significant deficit. We clearly cannot continue to run the club at this level of loss. "We have set a positive budget for the current year and we will be making every effort to ensure we deliver against this budget."
