Gosling Football Stadium welcomes new resident clubs
This weekend Gosling Sports Park Football Stadium welcomes Hatfield FC and Codicote FC as their new resident football clubs.
From August, Gosling Sports Park, based in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, will see the first teams use Gosling as their official training ground and for all upcoming home fixtures for the next seven years.
Ted Collie, Hatfield Town Chairman said of the partnership: "We have negotiated a seven-year agreement with Gosling for Hatfield Town FC to play there, and this will also include what will be the U16 as well." Alterations have been made at Gosling Football Stadium for the non-league step five club (Hatfield), and all involved are looking forward to an exciting new season ahead.
Gosling's commercial director, Mark Williams, said of the investment "Gosling is delighted to welcome both clubs to Gosling for the upcoming season for training and fixtures. I'm sure the teams will benefit from our new 3G artificial floodlit football pitches - ideal for all weather training, and hope the player's and spectators also enjoy Gosling's full size grass football stadium (with new tunnel and seating), which we hope will create a fantastic match atmosphere. Gosling Sports Park is looking forward to working with our new resident clubs over the next few years on this exciting development."
Charter Standard Club Codicote FC have also signed a seven-year agreement which will see the club training on the 3G pitches with a range of teams from under nines to senior teams enjoying the top facilities. The Villagers'' secretary Ian Moody added: "Working with Gosling and the fantastic facilities they have at their disposal will allow us to develop as a club over the next seven years." Codicote's first team, which plays in the Herts Senior County League Premier Division, are hoping the successful pitch move will result in triumph on the pitch.
There is further positive football news for Gosling, who have just announced they will be hosting one of its largest events yet with top football club Arsenal FC for an Arsenal veteran charity football match on Sunday 29 August (in association with Codicote FC and in aid of the Willow Foundation). The event will see Gosling Sports Park welcome thousands of guests to its football stadium to enjoy the star-studded match (which kicks off at 2.30pm), as well as having an Open Day, BBQ and family fun on the day - offering a wide range of sporting activities and sports tasters from tennis to snowboarding across its 52 acre Sports Park.
