The Gosling Sports Park in Welwyn Garden City has unveiled plans for the development of a new £5.5m sports facility.

The centre will be located in Gosling’s existing tennis centre and will link both new and existing buildings.

Chief executive Duncan Kerr said: “We’re delighted to announce the project. Gosling has reached the point in its history where something positive and dynamic needs to happen in order to cement our long-term future. The increased income generated will offer even further expansion opportunities.”

The facility will feature a new 120-station fitness suite; a spa complex with spa pools, saunas and steamrooms, as well as five treatment rooms; a 52-bay golf driving range; three aerobics studios; new changing rooms; a sports retail outlet and new offices and reception area.

Construction work, subject to planning permission, is hoped to begin early next year.
