Great Yarmouth Council plans seafront development
Great Yarmouth Borough Council is seeking expressions of interest from developers for a 30-acre site on the Golden Mile, on the town’s seafront.
The council hopes that a new development will increase the number of visitors to Great Yarmouth and extend the tourist season.
“We would like to work in partnership with potential developers and we are open to a variety of different proposals,” said Mark Barrow, corporate director for Great Yarmouth Borough Council.
“Our overall aim is to extend the season in Great Yarmouth and we have a range of ambitious plans to transform the town by 2020. A key part of that is to develop the famous Golden Mile to meet the tourism needs in the 21st century.”
Great Yarmouth currently receives around five million visitors per year.
