Greek delegation offers Olympic tips to 2008 host
The organising committee of the 2004 Athens Olympics is to send a 25-strong delegation to Beijing this month, in order to meet the contractual obligation of Olympic host cities to transfer organisational and operational know how to subsequent host venues.
The delegation will include the president of Athens 2004, Gianna Angelopoulos-Daskalaki and will address the organising committee of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games as well as representatives of the organising committees of the Winter Olympic Games to be hosted in Torino (2006) and Vancouver (2010).
Taking place between 31 October and 3 November, the conference is structured in to 10 general subject areas covering a broad range of activities and operations at the strategic level.
During the conference, a detailed account will be given of the key areas of concern experienced during the 2004 games, including the threat of terrorism and its impact on security.
