Green light for Fulham riverside scheme
Hammersmith and Fulham Council (HFC) has approved plans put forward by developer St George for a new riverside development, which is set to regenerate the Fulham Reach area of London.
Located on Distillery Lane, the scheme is to comprise a gym; restaurants; a swimming pool; and a boat club, alongside nearly 750 residential apartments and office space.
The local authority has also negotiated a £12m Section 106 agreement with St George that will be invested in improvements to the surrounding areas.
HFC deputy leader and cabinet member for the environment Nick Botterill said: "The [planning] committee approved this application as it believed that the development would revitalise the riverside.
"We recognise that there were differing views on this scheme but ultimately it is our opinion that this development will improve Fulham Reach and the surrounding area."
