Green light for Herts leisure complex plans
Capital and Regional, the London-based property company, has been given the go ahead for its planned overhaul of the Leisure World complex in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire.
Dacorum Borough Council has approved the group's plans for the revamp of the 170,000sq ft (15,794sq m) venue at Jarman Fields, which is due for completion in spring 2013.
A new restaurant quarter with family-orientated eateries will be created as part of the scheme, along with a new gym, an ice rink, a 10 pin-bowling alley and a multi-screen cinema.
David James, responsible for national developments at Capital and Regional, said: "We believe now is the right time for Leisure World to be refurbished and rebranded.
"We are looking forward to progressing our designs further and delivering our vision for this important community venue in due course."
