Greene King acquires Cloverleaf Restaurants
Greene King, the Suffolk-based pub group and brewer, has announced that it has completed the acquisition of Cloverleaf Restaurants in a deal worth £55.8m.
The group confirmed it now plans to invest around £25m in expanding Cloverleaf's current estate, which comprises 12 sites across the North and Midlands. In addition to the existing Cloverleaf estate, 10 new restaurants are expected to open within the next two years and will help accelerate Greene King's bid to focus on a food-led model.
The purchase was revealed on the same day that Greene King posted a 3.9 per cent growth in like-for-like sales in the 38 weeks to 23 January.
