Greene King launches Right Move campaign
Greene King is offering its lessees, tenants and employees £2,000 if they can tip the company off on any freehouses that are for sale or about to come onto the market.
Greene King’s leased division, Pub Partners, will hand over the finder’s fee for any information that leads to a freehouse purchase.
Sue Thomas-Taylor, commercial for Greene King Pub Partners, said of the Right Move campaign: “We’re keen to find out from any of our lessees, tenants or employees if they have heard of any landlords moving or rumours of freehold pubs going on the market.
“We’re looking to expand our estate of 2,500 pubs and what better way to do it than through personal recommendation.”
In October last year, Travelodge implemented a similar system where the general public was offered a bounty totalling £25m – and up to £150,000 to an individual – to people who find a new location or existing building that results in a new hotel opening.
