Greene King's Belhaven puts 11 pubs up for sale
Belhaven, the Scottish arm of pub operator Greene King, has put 11 of its freehold pubs on the market.
The pubs' freehold interest is valued between £200,000 and £575,00 and the sale is being handled through property agent Christie + Co. The pubs are spread across the west and north of Scotland, and are either tenanted or managed houses. Jeff Myers, managing director of Belhaven Pubs, said that the sale of the properties is not due to the economic climate but continues the company's policy of "both making pubs available to the marketplace as well as acquiring them".
Brian Sheldon, director at Christie + Co, said: "Contrary to what is being reported, there is good activity in the licensed property market at the moment, and since the turn of the year, the number of bars made available for sale has increased, as has the level of viewings from prospective buyers."
