Grown-up Play Room for West End
A new £1m supper club and cabaret called The Play Room has opened in London’s West End.
Owned and operated by City Bars & Restaurants, the venue covers 3,000sq ft (280sq m) and comprises one large space with a stage and cloistered alcoves.
“There has been a change in people’s patterns when going out and we have seen that they want something new,” said City Bars & Restaurants’ founder and chief executive, Terry Pullen.
“They are not content any more with having to choose between dinner and theatre, a bar or a club. They want to be entertained and want a high standard of food and drink to go with it.
“We hope we have hit the nail on the head in combining all three in a plush, glamourous and grown-up club with unique acts created especially for the Play Room.”
The Play Room was designed by architect Shaun Clarkson, who has previously worked on the Berkley Square Café, the Cheyne Walk Brasserie and Aziz restaurant in Fulham as well as the Plymouth Gym visitor centre in Plymouth.
City Bars & Restaurants also operates 10 Room, 10 Tokyo Joe’s and Purple in Chelsea. Terry Pullen also owns and operates Pullen, a creative agency offering consultancy to the hotel, bar and restaurant sector.
