Grévin et Compagnie expands with first German site
Grévin et Compagnie is expanding its operations to Germany for the first time and taking over the Fort Fun theme park in Hootsauerland, western Germany.
Fort Fun has been established for almost 35 years, and features more than 40 attractions including a Wild River log flume ride, and 45m high big wheel. The site attracts around 400,000 visitors a year, and records sales in excess of EUR 6m.
The acquisition brings Grévin et Compagnie's total portfolio to ten entertainment and tourist facilities throughout Europe, including Parc Astérix and Aquarium du Val de Loire in France and Avonturenpark Hellendoorn in the Netherlands.
Following the addition of Fort Fun, the company will now receive more than five million visitors a year, a figure which has doubled in the last four years. 'This new site confirms our ability to create growth by acquisitions,' said company chairman, Olivier de Bosredon. Details: +33 (0)1 44 50 51 76
