Gwynedd footpaths undergo improvements
Work has been completed on a £132,000 scheme to improve a number of footpaths in Gwynedd, North Wales, as part of the local authority's Public Rights of Way Improvement Plan.
Footpaths in Bethesda, Blaenau Ffestiniog, Llangybi and Mynytho are among those to benefit from the scheme, which has included resurfacing work and the installation of gates to replace stiles and other barriers. Gareth Roberts, Gwynedd Council's senior portfolio leader for the environment, said: "These schemes are an important step towards improving access to the countryside for all in the area.
"The improvements make it much easier for local residents and visitors to the area to be able to enjoy Gwynedd's beautiful countryside, as well as providing a great opportunity for people to make the most of Gwynedd's paths and walkways to keep fit and healthy."
