Gym opens in former Staffordshire football arena
Stafford Borough Council has opened the Westbridge Park Fitness Centre in Stone, Staffordshire.
The council has spent £150,000 converting a former five-a-side indoor football facility into a 68-station gym equipped by Technogym and a large aerobic studio for classes. It has also installed Legend Club Management System's swipe card system.
The facility still boasts four outdoor football pitches and three tennis courts.
The new fitness centre opened in July and the council, which funded and operates the facility, hopes to attract more than 800 new members in the coming months.
