Gymbox to open Westfield club
Health club operator Gymbox will open a new flagship club on the top floor of The Village - a luxury retail section at the Westfield London shopping complex.
Set to open in 2011, the 19,650sq ft (1,800sq m) club will offer an Olympic size boxing ring, 70 cv stations, an indoor sprint track, a large free weights area and the customary live DJs and nightclub-like interiors created by Hacienda club designer Ben Kelly.
Law firm Mishcon de Reya advised Gymbox on the lease deal for the site.
Mischon de Reya partner Nick Minkoff said the Westfield club will the first in a number of planned new openings for Gymbox.
He said: "Gymbox is a significant new client for us. In addition to the lease of the flagship gym at Westfield London, we have also been instructed on the roll out of a number of other new gyms.
"We look forward to developing this relationship over the next few months."
