H.A.W.K.S eye view!
The Scottish Wildlife Trust’s local children’s group The H.A.W.K.S launched their first exhibition on Thursday 30 August 2007 at the Falls of Clyde Visitor Centre, New Lanark.
The exhibition is a showcase of the group’s achievements over the last year and includes a display of photos and artwork along with highlights from their video diary.
Lyndsay Mark, Watch leader said: “It’s great to see that The H.A.W.K.S have had such a lot of fun over the last year. This is the first time we have ever exhibited their work and we are all very proud of their achievements. ‘A H.A.W.K.S eye view’ really captures the natural world from a child’s perspective and their enjoyment is a real motivation to ensure that we conserve our local greenspaces for future generations.”
The exhibition will be on display to the public throughout September from 11.00 am – 5.00 pm at the Falls of Clyde Visitor Centre.
H.A.W.K.S is part of SWT’s junior Watch membership that is aimed at children aged 8 to 14 years old.
For those interested in joining SWT as a junior Watch member, membership starts for just £15.00 a year and there is a network of Watch groups all over Scotland. Join online at www.swt.org.uk
H.A.W.K.S’ (Helping All Wildlife Keep Safe) meet once a month at the Falls of Clyde Visitor Centre and Wildlife Reserve in New Lanark where they take part in all kinds of wild and wonderful activities including river dipping, woodland safaris and tree-planting.
