Ditchling Museum - an attraction in East Sussex housing a number of works by early 20th century artists - has received £835,600 from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF).

The grant will provide 34 per cent of the total cost of plans to revamp the museum and its collections, including the creation of new education spaces. A wider programme of activities, events and workshops are also planned, while the cart lodge will be refurbished to provide a new entrance.

Among Ditchling Museum's collections are works by Edward Johnston, the man behind the London Underground logo; Sir Frank Brangywn; and Hilary Pepler. Stuart McLeod, head of the HLF for the South East, said: "There will be lots of exciting opportunities for volunteers and other people keen to get involved."
