Hampton by Hilton to open at Exeter Airport
Plans have been announced for a new hotel development at Exeter International Airport, which will include a 160-bedroom Hampton by Hilton property.
Sanguine Hospitality Management Company (SHMC) will operate the new hotel, which will boast a dining venue and meeting space and is scheduled to open its doors by the end of 2011. SHMC managing director Nick Taplin said: "A key element of our growth strategy is to develop in areas of strong economic and tourism growth and Exeter certainly fits that bill.
"The airport is one of the most progressive in the country, sitting at the heart of the Exeter and East Devon Growth Point, with an aim to be the airport of choice for the south west." Exeter International Airport managing director Jamie Christon added: "The hotel development is a key part of the airport masterplan and its presence is vital in stimulating passenger growth over the long term."
