Harlem Brixton to house private musicians’ club
Music producer Arthur Baker and entrepreneur Stuart Hopson Jones have revealed plans to open a private members’ club for people in the music industry alongside their second restaurant site in Brixton, London.
The club, called Dex, will be located above the duo’s Harlem Brixton restaurant and will function as an industry-networking club and an exclusive members-only lounge.
Dex will include a hotel which boasts 24-hour room service and eight bedrooms – each equipped with a professional sound system and turntables.
Harlem Brixton is the second ‘soul food’ restaurant opened by Baker and Hopson Jones, following the launch of the inaugural Harlem in London’s Notting Hill area.
Set to launch in the summer, Dex will initially have 100 founding members and aims to be non élitist and attract a “fellowship from all genres and positions within the music landscape.”
The membership will include overseas and corporate options while members can take advantage of the various amenities for meetings, album release parties and concert after parties.
Food to the club, which was designed by Paul Daly, will be provided by Harlem Brixton and members will be offered the full menu.
