Sheraton Hotels & Resorts has re-launched its four Hawaiian properties following a US$239m (179m euro, £144m) redevelopment programme.

The renovation projects included the US$188m (147m euro, £118m) renewal of the Sheraton Waikiki, the US$6.5m (5.1m euro, £4.1m) revamp of the Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa, a US$16m (12.5m euro, £10m) upgrade to the Sheraton Kauai Resort, and a US$20m (15.6m euro, £12.5m) refresh of the Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay.

The Sheraton Waikiki improvements include an infinity-edge pool and an oceanfront adult-only pool with a swim-up bar.

A new Helumoa Playground, featuring a 70ft waterslide, two large whirlpools, and chaise water sunning benches spread around a 12,500sq ft (1,161sq m) area, has also been added.

All 1,636 rooms and public areas have been redesigned and new pools and restaurants have been added.

The Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa also received a revamp, which included a redesign of its 508 guestrooms and improvements to the day spa.

The third hotel to undergo renovations is the Sheraton Kauai Resort in Koloa. Improvements include an upgraded Ocean Lobby and an open-air Ocean Courtyard featuring six seating areas with three fire pits. The resort also features a newly expanded and tiered Ocean pool and a new Rum Fire restaurant.

Meanwhile, The Sheraton Kona Resort & Spa at Keauhou Bay has received enhancements to guestrooms, public areas and meeting spaces as well as a new lobby and new dining concepts.

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts operates 400 hotels in 70 countries and is in the process of a $6bn global expansion over the next three years. Sheraton is owned by Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide.
