Healthy advice from S & N
Brewer Scottish & Newcastle will be adding health warnings to its cans and bottles from next month.
The warning will first appear on the company’s Newcastle Brown Ale brand and be extended to other labels later.
It will advise consumers how many units of alcohol the drink contains and the numbers of units for both men and women which is considered to constitute a sensible daily intake.
Coors, which produces Grolsch and Carling lagers in the UK, is reported to planning to introduce similar labels next year and it is expected that other producers will follow suit.
