Hell breaks loose in Shoreditch
A Victorian warehouse in London’s Shoreditch has been transformed to house a new restaurant and bar called Hell.
The former Old Brick Lane Music Hall venue, has been inspired by New York and its Hell’s Kitchen neighbourhood.
Hell’s owners, restaurateur Stephen Breen and designer Fred Nicolay, intend to continue the tradition of live music at the site by offering a wide selection of acts and djs at the bar at weekends.
The 10,000sq ft venue’s restaurant has 162 covers and the 60ft, four-sided bar has an overall capacity of 350.
Food will be available from lunchtime until midnight every day and offers diners a variety of American and Asian dishes.
The restaurant’s deli will also dispense home-made soups and sandwiches during lunch times.
Designed by Nicolay – who has transformed a number of sites in Brussels – the venue’s materials were imported from Belgium and the furniture from Egypt.
Breen’s other sites include the Morrison Bar and Restaurant on Kings Road.
