Hello Kitty bringing experience stores to Universal theme parks
Sanrio and Universal are teaming up to bring an interactive Hello Kitty retail experience to Universal’s theme parks in Orlando and Hollywood.
This will be Hello Kitty’s first retail appearance at US theme parks, with both experiences set to open later this year. Included in the experience store will be custom-designed merchandise; photo opportunities with Sanrio properties such as Hello Kitty, Chococat, My Melody and Badtz-Maru; building workshops to create Hello Kitty’s signature bow and a meet and greet with Hello Kitty herself.
In addition to the experiences, the store will also sell specialty merchandise, some only available at the parks, with products including stationery, home goods, apparel, accessories and collectibles.
"Our partnership with Universal brings Sanrio's experiential entertainment presence to a new level," said Janet Hsu, president and COO of Sanrio. "We look forward to this introduction into Universal theme parks to offer new connection points to Sanrio fans of all ages."
