Somerset-based trust Avalon Leisure, which operates leisure facilities on behalf of Mendip District Council and Western Community Leisure, has been awarded a high score in the Quest scheme for Frome Leisure Centre after a recent re-assessment.

The trust has also learned that its Avalon Lifestyle health and fitness club, based at Farrington Golf and Country Club, has been short listed in a final three for the fitness industry’s annual club of the year awards, in the smaller clubs category. The result will be announced at the fitness industry awards dinner at Birmingham in September.

Avalon’s operations manager, Rob Taylor, said: “We are all absolutely delighted at the level of achievement and the elevated status our scores have given us in the leisure field – the staff are to be congratulated on their commitment to the process and their determination to demonstrate continuous improvement for the residents of Mendip.”
