Visitors to the Maryland Live! Casino can now enjoy a complete gaming, entertainment and dining experience by carrying on the fun from the casino floor up to the steakhouse’s newly opened outdoor patio.

The 76-seat lounge is the social hub of the restaurant and is housed by a striking retractable canopy designed, manufactured and installed by OpenAire.

The design and integration of a retractable canopy for the steakhouse is the latest in a series of partner projects between OpenAire and the Cordish Company.

After OpenAire’s execution of roof enclosures for Leinenkugel’s Beer Garden bar and Alley Roof at the Power Plant Live! Complex in Baltimore, the Cordish Company decided to continue this by inviting OpenAire to build the Maryland steakhouse canopy.

For the restaurant at Maryland Live! Casino, OpenAire created a single slope canopy to cover the entire dining patio area.

The canopy, constructed with maintenance free aluminum trusses glazed with grey/ opal polycarbonate, features five retractable panels that retract upward from the bottom and park under the top glazing.

Whether friends are gathering for cocktails, or dining from the full menu, the patio’s opening canopy allows guests to enjoy fresh air and the outdoors year-round.

Specially placed heaters and a fireplace maintain a cozy environment in cooler weather, while diners can enjoy sunshine and a refreshing breeze in summer.
