Hilton Worldwide signs up to Chad hotel
Hilton Worldwide has entered into a new management agreement with Salim Group, which will see the group unveil its first Hilton Hotels and Resorts property in Chad.
Due to open in 2013, the 195-room Hilton N'Djamena will feature a health club; a business centre; a banqueting hall; a swimming pool; and four restaurants. N'Djamena currently attracts a large number of government visitors and business travellers, particularly from the energy sector. Inbound tourist numbers are also on the increase.
The World Travel and Tourism Council has revealed Chad to be one of the top 10 locations set to benefit from rapid tourism growth between 2008 and 2018. Hilton Worldwide senior vice president, development, Europe and Africa, Patrick Fitzgibbon said: "Africa is an exciting continent with greater than ever numbers of business and leisure travellers.
"Hilton Worldwide aims to have a hotel in every key city on the African continent. With the development of this hotel, we will have a presence in 14 African countries." Image: (c) 2011 Hilton Hotels and Resorts
