Hilton Worldwide to expand London presence
Hilton Worldwide has revealed that it is to expand its presence in London to 29 hotels, with the opening of two properties on the capital's South Bank over the next two years.
First to open will be the Hilton London Southbank, which is due to launch in 2012 and will feature 281 rooms; a LivingWell fitness centre with swimming pool; and meeting space. The property - located next to the NEO Bankside development site - will be owned by The Splendid Hotel Group and managed by Hilton Worldwide.
Meanwhile, the Hampton by Hilton London Waterloo will launch in 2013 under a franchise agreement with Shiva Hotels and will be the brand's first hotel in central London. Hilton Worldwide president of global brands and shared services Paul Brown said: "Ever since London Hilton on Park Lane opened its doors to the world in 1963, Hilton Worldwide has welcomed visitors to London in an increasing number of properties.
"This latest announcement comes during a new era for our company as we look to grow our portfolio of brands in London."
