Hilton expands to Sweden
Hilton Group plc is set to open its first hotel in Sweden on February 21.
The 290-room Hilton Stockholm Slussen is one of four Hiltons planned to open in Sweden in 2002, marking Hilton's entry into the Swedish market following the acquisition of Scandic Hotels in June 2001.
David Michels, group chief executive of Hilton Group plc said: 'The establishment of Hilton in Stockholm, and eventually in several other Swedish cities, adds an important destination to the Hilton estate. Hilton aims to situate hotels in locations identified as key to our customers, where business deals are done and important decisions are made.'
Hilton intends to open 20 to 25 hotels within the Nordic market within the next three years.
