Hilton Hotels Corporation (HHC) has announced six new hotel deals in Europe as is part of plans to open 49 properties by 2011 and 150 new European hotels over the next 10 years.

The deals include four new mid-market Hilton Garden Inn hotels in Turkey, a Doubletree by Hilton conversion project in Italy and a fifth Hilton hotel in Poland. The four hotels in Turkey will open in Istanbul, Corlu and Corum, thanks to a management agreement between HHC and developers Amplio and the Kiosifler Group. The deal is part of an alliance between HHC and the developers to create up to 40 Hilton properties in Turkey, over the next five years.

The 150-room Hilton Garden Inn Istanbul Bostanci will be the first of the brand to open in Turkey in 2010, and will feature a restaurant and a bar, four meeting rooms and a fitness centre with a swimming pool. The 220-room Hilton Garden Inn Istanbul Golden Horn, expected to open in 2011, will offer eight meeting rooms, a 300-person capacity ballroom, a restaurant and a bar as well as a fitness centre. The 160-bedroom hotels in Corlu and Corum are both expected to open in 2011, and each will feature meeting rooms, a restaurant and a bar, a swimming pool and a fitness centre.

HHC has signed a management agreement with developer Wings Properties for the 225-room Hilton Wroclaw, Poland, which is expected to open at the end of 2011, and will be the fifth Hilton hotel in the country. The property will include a 500sq m ballroom, 10 meeting rooms, a 850sq m wellness centre and spa including a swimming pool and a gym. The company is also developing two Hilton Garden Inn properties in the country, in Rzeszow and Warsaw, which are expected to open in 2009, and has another Hilton hotel due to open in Gdansk in 2010 – it currently operates the Hilton Warsaw Hotel and Convention Centre.

In Italy, the group will launch its second Doubletree by Hilton branded hotel by 2010 at the Acaya Golf Resort near Lecce, previously known as the Acaya Golf Hotel & Resort, thanks to a franchise agreement with Acaya Spa to convert the 96-room property. When the refurbishment is completed, the resort will include a 150-seat restaurant, a lobby bar, a 500sq m meeting room, indoor and outdoor swimming pools and an 18-hole golf course.

HHC plans to open four more Doubletree branded hotel in London, Kosice (Slovakia), Novosibrisk (Russia) and Perm (Russia) by the end of 2011. It currently only operates two in the UK and a third in Milan (Italy).
