Hilton to take DoubleTree brand to Ireland
Hilton Worldwide is set to open Ireland’s first DoubleTree by Hilton-branded hotel in early February.
The group has signed a franchise agreement with Martinez Hotels & Resorts, which owns the property previously known as The Morrison Dublin.
As part of the deal, the property will receive a 7m euro (£5.7m US$9.1m) refurbishment before being relaunched as The Morrison, a DoubleTree by Hilton hotel.
Located on the banks of the River Liffey, the hotel will feature 138 guestrooms, a fitness centre, 24-hour business zone, and 4,413sq ft (410 sq m) of event space.
Dublin-based Nikki O'Donnell Architects will be responsible for the new interior design that's will be complete in early February.
Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice president, development, Europe & Africa, Hilton Worldwide, said: "DoubleTree by Hilton is one of the fastest growing upscale hotel brands in Europe and we are confident it will be a hit here in Ireland.
"This deal is also indicative of a renewed buoyancy in the Irish hospitality market, visible both in the strong performance of our existing portfolio and the confidence of owners and developers to invest."
