Historic Turkish baths to be restored

Sheffield's Turkish baths are to become the centre point of a new multi-million pound health spa.

The baths, first opened in 1887, will be restored as part of the Pure Balance Well Being Spa. As well as the baths, there will be a gym, health and beauty suite, steam room, the Fire and Ice hot and cold rooms, Pilates and Power Chiyoga classes and bronzing and relaxation areas.

Operated by Sheffield based 1st Inne Ltd, the spa is expected to open in March 2002. We are bringing back to life the baths that have been closed for 11 years. There will be nothing like the spa in Sheffield, it will be special, said 1st Inne director, Stuart Hitchman.
