Hobart; Hiroshima withdraw from 2020 race
Hobart, Australia, and Hiroshima, Japan, have confirmed that they are no longer bidding for the right to host the 2020 Summer Olympic Games.
According to the BBC, the Japanese city had suggested a joint "peace bid" with Nagasaki but could not fund the bid due to outstanding debts from the 1994 Asian Games. Meanwhile, Hobart has confirmed that it has decided to focus on the 2022 Youth Olympic Games in an effort to bring an Olympiad to the Tasmanian capital.
