Holistic health programme launched at ASU in Phoenix
Arizona State University (ASU) in Phoenix, US, is to launch a new graduate-level certificate in the assessment of integrative health modalities this September.
The programme will be open to professionals in social work, nursing or related health and human services from the community, as well as students currently admitted to a health and human services degree programme.
It will focus on enhancing students’ knowledge of integrative health practices, which treat patients as a ‘whole’ person, taking into account their body, mind and spirit.
Interdisciplinary in nature, the course will feature a range of academic and off-site research and practise. This will include directed reading and expert lectures from community health professionals and ASU faculty.
There will also be field observation, an individual research paper, and in-class practice in order to enhance the quality and effectiveness of treating clients holistically.
