From hotels, restaurants, offices, bars, catering colleges and kitchens, hospitality industry employees will be bursting forth as Hospitality Action heroes on Friday 22nd May.

By wearing their pants proudly adorned with Hospitality Action hero stickers and raising money in whatever way they can, they will be making industry history by taking part in the charity's largest fundraising drive to date.

This action hero pant-wearing day of fun is part of Hospitality Action Week. With over 12 per cent more applications for support in the past year, the charity has launched the fundraising week to make sure everyone can be helped.

Employees can come together to have fun as action heroes and celebrate the industry they work in whilst raising funds to help less fortunate industry people and increasing awareness so that the charity can reach out to thousands more.

Hospitality Action Week will run from 18-24 May with the industry universally donning their pants on Friday 22 May.

Whether you choose to get sponsored for wearing your pants at work or you want to get a bit creative with your fundraising and host an 'underwear as overwear' fashion show, wash your customers' cars dressed as action heroes or get out on the streets (in your pants) with a shaky tin, every little amount raised helps.

The fun isn't limited to the Friday either; companies are encouraged to fundraise throughout the whole week if possible!

Already in the diary, Hospitality Action will be hosting their annual It's a Knockout Challenge, London on Thursday 21 May - there will undoubtedly be some participants wearing their pants!

Employees from The Fat Duck will be skydiving as part of Hospitality Action Week and Jason Atherton of Maze will be hosting a Great British Menu dinner on Monday 18 May to show his support.

The world-class finalists from last year's Great British Menu, which was shown on BBC2, will be cooking up a culinary sensation at the London Marriott Hotel Grosvenor Square. Boasting a plethora of Michelin stars, the regional finalists brought together by Jason Atherton of Maze, were selected for showcasing some of the best British cooking our country has to offer.

A table at any one of their restaurants is a coveted thing; an evening where you sample the delights of them cooking together is a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Tickets are priced at £120 per person and include a champagne reception, wine and a chance to bid for the chefs to cook for you in your own home! This evening is quite simply a must for anyone who knows and appreciates good food. Places are limited so book now to avoid disappointment.

Contact [email protected] to book your tickets.

The opportunity to become a Hospitality Hero is open to everyone who works in hospitality but the message is the same across the industry. Show your support to your industry charity during Hospitality Action Week.

Penny Moore, chief executive of Hospitality Action said: "Every penny raised helps and whether you and your colleagues want to keep things simple with a dress down day or go to town with something a little wackier, your support counts during this week and specifically on the Friday when everyone can be an action hero. We really hope everyone will get on board."

With many enthusiastic companies already signed up, famous industry faces will be posing in their pants as will employees across the industry. Come Friday 22nd May, you might just find your hotel room being cleaned by a hospitality 'Wonder Woman', your cocktail shaken up with added action hero 'kapow' or your fine dining experience with a side of 'SuperChef'.

An information pack, registration form, fundraising ideas and details of a 'Snapped in your pants' photo-competition for the most decorative pants and most original activities can all be found on the website.
