Hotel entrepreneur award winner revealed
Oxford Brookes University third-year student Harriet Small has been named as the winner of Bespoke Hotels' Entrepreneur of the Year award at a ceremony held in London.
The Bespoke Hotels-sponsored event, which features a Dragons' Den-style format, saw students present business ventures to a panel of hospitality and tourism entrepreneurs.
Small's 'Loco' concept was chosen as the winning entry, which links allotment and small farm owners to local eateries through a voucher scheme and bicycle distribution network.
Z Hotels managing director Bev King, Sam's Brasserie and Bar founder Sam Harrison and Bespoke Hotels chair Robin Sheppard were among the panel members.
Sheppard said: "The Oxford Brookes Dragons' Den programme is a very topical concept which we hope will continue to inspire and tempt the future hospitality pioneers of tomorrow."
