Houston waterpark undergoes name change and revamp
The SplashTown water park in Houston, Texas has been rebranded by owners CNL Lifestyle Properties as Wet 'n' Wild SplashTown.
As part of the rebranding - which includes a new logo and redesigned website - and a corresponding multimillion dollar investment, CNL is expanding and redeveloping the property during the current off-season.
New rides being added include FlowRider, a simulated surfing experience; Big Kahuna, a thrilling raft ride; and Wet 'n' Wild Jr., a children's area with eight water slides.
A new parking area, landscaping, revamped dining facilities and other amenities will also be included.
CNL owns 16 water parks throughout the United States, with the name change of the Houston and recently re-named Soak City park in Palm Springs, California bringing the total number of its Wet 'n' Wild branded attractions to four. The other two are located in Arizona and Hawaii and all are operated by Premier Parks, LLC on behalf of CNL.
