Hyatt expanding in India
Hyatt Hotels Corporation is to expand its portfolio in Delhi, Goa, Kolkata and Mumbai, as well as moving into 15 new Indian cities - including Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad and Pune - over the next five years.
Three of the new properties are scheduled to open in 2010, joining the company's existing Park Hyatt Goa Resort and Spa, Grand Hyatt Mumbai, Hyatt Regency Delhi, Hyatt Regency Kolkata, and Hyatt Regency Mumbai. The Hyatt Regency Pune, with 306 guest rooms as well as serviced apartments, will offer an all-day lounge and cafe, speciality restaurant, bar and lounge, a Hyatt Pure spa, a fitness centre with an indoor swimming pool, gym and yoga room, and more than 17,000sq ft of function space.
The 329-room Hyatt Regency Chennai will feature five restaurants and lounge bars, a fitness centre, beauty salon, swimming pool and a Hyatt Pure spa, while the Grand Hyatt Goa is to be a 314-room hotel in Aldeia de Goa and offer a wide range of both indoor and outdoor dining options as well as a Hyatt Pure spa with 20 treatment rooms. Further developments planned for between now and 2015 include Hyatt Regency hotels in Ahmedabad, Bangalore (Koramangala and Jakkur), Chennai OMR, Hyderabad, Navi Mumbai and Vizag; Grand Hyatt hotels in Pune and various other cities; Park Hyatt properties in Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Mumbai; and Hyatt Place hotels in markets such as Gurgaon, Hyderabad, Indore, Lucknow, Mangalore, Mundra and Mysore.
