Hyatt opens its first hotel in The Netherlands
Hyatt Hotels has launched the Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht hotel and spa, its first property in the Netherlands and its ninth under the Andaz brand.
Located in the city centre, the hotel boasts 117 guestrooms with five suites and will target both business and leisure travellers.
As the hotel is built on the site of the former Public Library, guestrooms vary greatly in size from 24-36sq m (258-1,517sq ft) and suites are between 55-141sq m (592-1,517sq ft).
Spa treatments on offer integrate the healing benefits of plants, flowers and herbs as well as result-oriented mechanical therapies.
The spa includes a solarium, a lower heat sauna that reaches 60 degrees centigrade and treatments focused on unwinding and energising.
Dining options available include the Bluespoon restaurant where guests can enjoy the local flavours and a range of western cuisine.
Part of the hotel's design concept incorporates a video art collection that represents a diversion from 'regular' art. The video art collection includes works from emerging and established local and international video artists such as Ryan Gander and Erwin Olaf. The collections are displayed throughout the hotel as well as on a 60inch screen in the lounge.
The hotel also features a 24-hour fitness centre, a library and three studio spaces that can be used as boardrooms or to host cocktail receptions.
