The high level of innovation in rides and attractions was recognised at the Brass Ring Awards at IAAPA this week, with Sally Corp winning the best new product and the Impact Award for its Justice League: Battle for Metropolis dark ride.

The innovative dark ride brings Warner Bros and DC Entertainments IPs to life in an a multi-media and animatronic interactive experience. Justice League has impressed those within the industry as well as visitors to Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags St Louis where it’s installed.

The ride is also coming to Six Flags Great America in Chicago and Six Flags Mexico in Mexico City in 2016.

“We are honoured to receive this acknowledgement from our industry peers,” said Sally CEO John Wood. “We look forward to continuing our partnership with Six Flags to bring this experience to the next generation of thrill-seekers.”

Justice League: Battle for Metropolis also awarded Best New Product in the Major Ride or Attraction category.

“This ride is a game-changer in the regional and destination theme park industry and is hands down one of the most exciting and innovative attractions we have introduced in our 54 year history,” said Les Hudson, vice president of design for Six Flags. “The industry recognition underscores our company’s commitment to delivering new and innovative thrills in every park, every year.”

The award for the best new product/attraction in waterparks went to ProSlide’s FlyingSAUCER/RocketBLAST, the Singha hybrid water coaster-meets-slide at Siam Park in Tenerife. The pioneering ride is more than 240m in length, 14 changes of direction.

"We are limitless in terms of our energy and our drive to create the world's best water rides. It's non-stop, relentless," said Rick Hunter, ProSlide's president & CEO. "Water propulsion water coasters have been around the industry for 25 years; we decided to do something different."

Meanwhile, Mack Rides received the New Concept award for their Power Splash design, the world’s first launch water coaster.

It was announced at IAAPA that the Power Splash water ride will be installed at Walibi Park in Belgium in 2016, and it will be built into an existing lake at the park.
