The International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAAPA) has announced the opening of a regional office in Latin America, along with the formation of a Latin American Advisory Committee. Executive director for the new office will be Paulina Reyes .

The regional office, IAAPA Latin America, will serve as an industry resource and offer a full range of member services. It will be located in Mexico City, open on 1 October, 2009 and be supported by the national associations and Global Alliance partners in the region. As executive director, Reyes' main objectives will be to represent the interests of the Latin American attractions industry and offer IAAPA products and services. Initially she will develop a dedicated section of the IAAPA web site for members in Latin America, and create an e-newsletter, online forums, and social networking opportunities specific to the region.

She will also implement regional advocacy and education efforts to promote safety standards and support the organization and promotion of the Institute for Executive Education in Latin America. Reyes is the former general manager of the Latin America Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions and the Mexican Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions. She has also served on the IAAPA World Council, the IAAPA Membership Committee and as an IAAPA liaison to local and regional associations in Latin America.
