ICC task force assesses Zimbabwe cricket
A three-person task force has carried out a detailed assessment of the state of cricket in Zimbabwe to determine whether the country can resume its Test-playing status.
Led by the president of the West Indies Cricket Board, Julian Hunte, a three-day visit to the African country in November examined the game's administration, facilities, resources and capabilites, with recommendations to be presented to the ICC board in January. Sri Lankan cricket chief, Arjuna Ranatunga, and ICC chief executive, Haroon Lorgat, were also part of the task force. The Zimbabwe Cricket Union announced a self-imposed suspension from Test cricket in 2006, and the ICC is yet to support its return until conditions have been met.
