IHRSA predicts boost in health club members
The International Health, Racquet & Sportsclub Association (IHRSA) estimates that 10 million Americans will join a health club this year.
There are currently 41.3 million health club members in the US.
Those over the age of 55 and under 18 are the fastest growing group of members, representing 25 and 11 per cent of all members respectively.
More awareness about activity benefits, a trend towards family fitness and an aging population are said to contribute to the changing demographic of health club members.
