ILAM announces Manager of the Year award
The Guildford Spectrum Leisure Complex is celebrating its general manager winning ILAM's 2001 Manager of the Year award. Peter Gunn led the centre to receiving top marks in the government's Best Value Review during the period, as well as gaining 82 per cent - top marks nationally - in Sport's Council's Quest quality assessment. Gunn has also overseen a massive turnaround in Guildford Spectrum's operations over the last five years with more than £1m of investment and increased attendance of more than 100,000. ILAM judge John Knowles praises Gunn for his commitment to improvement, saying that under his management 'the best can only get better.' Gunn said that he was 'honoured to have been recognised' for the award.
