IPL officials set for ECB talks
Four officials from the Indian Premier League (IPL), including commissioner and chair Lalit Modi, are set to meet with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) to discuss the possibility of staging the tournament in England.
The second IPL competition was due to be held in India between 10 April and 24 May but has been forced to relocate to another country after concerns were raised about the tournament coinciding with the Indian national election between 16 April and 13 May. South Africa has also been proposed as an alternative venue for the tournament, but the IPL has confirmed that a party, including commissioner and chair, Lalit Modi, will meet with the ECB with a view to naming the new host country and schedule by 24 March.
The ECB has also confirmed that discussions will be held, although has declined to make any further comment until talks are concluded.
