ISPA names new board members
The International Spa Association (ISPA) has unveiled its board of directors for 2011.
Deborah Waldvogel, director of spa development and operations for Sedona Resorts, is the new chair of the board, which also includes two other new officers.
The other two new officers are vice chair Jennifer Wayland-Smith, spa director of the Golden Door Spa at The Boulders and secretary Ella Stimpson of Encore Spa at Wynn Las Vegas.
Five new members of the board were elected for 2011 - Thor Holm, director of spa recreation and fitness at the Hammock Beach Resort; Philippe Therene, founder of SpaEquip; Michael Tompkins, general manager of Miraval Life in Balance; Robert Vance, spa director at Sanctuary on Camelback Mountain and Todd Walter, CEO of Red Door Spas.
Waldvogel said: "As a long-time member of ISPA, it is an honor to lead an association dedicated to bringing the most valuable resources and education to the spa industry.
"As we embark on the next 20 years of development in the global spa industry ISPA's members will continue to lead the way."
The board is completed by eight returning members:

* Dr. Kathryn Dundas, MD, CEO, medical director, Sublime Energy Medical Spa * Andrew Gibson, group director of spa, Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group
* Jesper Hougaard, managing director, Serena Spa Pvt. Ltd. (ex officio member) * Jaime Huffman, MPH, executive spa director, The Grove Park Inn Resort & Spa
* Jeff Kohl, national vertical accounts manager, Precor Inc. (ISPA Foundation President) * Frank Pitsikalis, president, ResortSuite
* Paul Schmidt, owner, CEO, Living Energy Design
