ISPA reveals details of Spa-Goer Study
The latest International Spa Association (ISPA) Spa-Goer Study has revealed that some 57 million US adults and 6.3 million Canadian adults have visited a spa at some point.
Of these, approximately 32.2 million and 3.7 million respectively are ‘active’ spa goers, having visited a spa in 2005.
The future outlook is also positive – some 35.3 million and 3.8 million US and Canadian adults respectively intended to take one or more spa trips in the following year.
Following on from its 2004 Consumer Trends Report (Spa Business, 05/01 p38), ISPA commissioned the Hartman Group to undertake quantitative and qualitative research of spa-going consumers in the US and Canada.
Spa Business magazine reviewed the quantitative research in Issue 07/01 and will report on the qualitative research in the next issue, which will be published later this year. (See Spa Business 07/01 p44. To order, visit www.spabusiness.com)
