ISRM launches online training for spa pool managers
In response to a recent report into spa pools by the Health Protection Agency, the Institute of Sport and Recreation Management (ISRM) has teamed up with internet-based learning services company Knowledge=Power to create an interactive training course aimed at reducing the risk posed to the public.
The report found that more than 25 per cent of spa pools in the UK contained the legionella bacteria and only two thirds of these met acceptable standards and highlighted the need top improve standards.
The online course has been designed to train spa pool operators without the need to attend the ISRM’s existing residential courses.
Martin Steer, education and training development officer for the ISRM, said: “The Health Protection Agency report has proved that we need to take spa pool safety much more seriously. This course provides an easy training solution to any establishment or business that operates spa pools commercially.”
The course consists of four modules and an exam and successful participants will receive an ISRM certificate of achievement. Details: www.altoonline.com/ISRM
